Development and testing of a speed regulation system for emergency closing of a water turbine guide vane
The concept of an emergency closing speed control system for water turbine is presented in this article. The operating principle of the control system, which ensures variable closing speed depending on operating conditions, is described. A model solution and a control method for the system were developed. The control algorithm was implemented in a programmable logic controller (PLC). The model system was tested on a laboratory bench using the developed algorithm ensuring variable closing speed of the turbine wicket gate.
