Balance of egzergy or energy, which is the „more important”? Debate article
Answered is here a very essential question whether the egzergy balance of an energy proces changes results of its cost-effectiveness analysis when this analysis is based not on the energy balance but on the egzergy one? The answer to the above question is so important because the author of this article often meets the opinion that this is exactly so which is an evident nonsense. This nonsense undoubtly results from the fact that in the subject literature i.e. in handbooks, monographs and scientific publications concerning thermodynamics, the balances of egzergy and energy are always treated and presented as „separate entities” while it is not so. The energy balance is just an exclusive case of the egzergy balance which is not only a record of the energy balance but also of some two more laws – the one saying about the possible course direction of thermodynamic processes occurring in a thermal system and the other one saying about power loss in a heat engine or growth of driving power of heat working machinery (coolers and heat pumps) because of the irreversibility of phenomena occurring in them. Then it should be once again forcefully emphasized that it is the energy balance that is obtained from the egzergy balance and that the energy balance is the egzergy balance derivative and not vice versa (sic!). It is the egzergy balance that is a general record of all phenomena occurring in nature where the energy balance is also registered. This truth has been expressis verbis proved in this article. So, should it not the principle of energy devaluation and entropy increase be the most important and the first law of thermodynamics? Why, should not then the fundamental laws of thermodynamics be redefined?

The effects of the energy transformation forced by the European Green Deal
The European Green Deal aims to transform Europe into a climate-neutral area. Although it is increasingly under attack for many reasons, the EU authorities are determined to implement it. The article estimates the value of domestic electricity production and consumption after the energy transformation, using actual data for the period from 12.10.2022 to 18.12.2022, including its electricity production by wind and photovoltaic power plants. It is justified that basing the transformation on renewable energy sources – even supported by nuclear power plants – is technically, economically and temporally unfeasible in Poland, even in the perspective of 2050. One of the important reasons is the need to build unrealistically large energy storage facilities. In a few years, it will cause the collapse of the Polish economy with serious social consequences. The energy transformation of the Polish economy should therefore be stopped or at least significantly extended, to a period well beyond 2050.

Project LIROV. Machine preparation for the evaluation of its technical condition and acceptability criteria for the limits of line wire exploitation. Part 4: results
This part of the publication presents the results of measurements of electrical characteristics of submarine cables in fatigue mode using variable mechanical exposures. These results allow obtaining information on the current condition of copper power cables, telecommunications and support cores and optical fibers in terms of their parameter stability and reliable operation. The measurement results are the basis for forecasting the period of reliable operation of the cable and making decisions on its further operation or appropriate maintenance, replacement of the damaged cable section or general repair.

“Polonia” Center
The article describes the project of another component of the construction of the Central Communication Port, the multifunctional “Polonia” Center. The “Polonia” Center complex consists of three buildings: the “Polonia” Hotel, the Arena, and the Diamond Gallery. The project in question is currently the only comprehensive development of the CPK compliant with Polish and international standards. The designed airport is one of the best and largest in the world.

Centenary of the First World Energy Conference in London and the formation of the Polish Energy Committee
The article presents the First World Energy Conference in London in 1924.The participation of the Polish delegation in the conference is described, as well as the paper presented by it on Polish power engineering. The effect of this conference for Poland was the establishment of the Polish Energy Committee in 1926, as the Polish national committee of the World Energy Conference, which developed extensive expert activities in the field of energy and international cooperation in this field. This committee was active until 1939.
